I can get a little obsessive. I have been doing beadwork since I was 5 years old and discovered my local bead shop. It was like being whisked away to a magical land of sparkle and creativity where time lost all meaning. I am mostly self-taught through trial and error, and all my designs come from my own mind.
In my late teens, I got a job working in that same bead store I had visited since early childhood. I got to play with beads all day and teach others about the joy of crafting with them. By that point, I was spending any leftover cent from my paycheck on beads and making so many beaded jewelry pieces that I didn't know what to do with them. They were literally popping out of every nook and cranny of my home! My friends and relatives were also draped in my creations...clearly something had to be done. So I started selling my work at the bead shop. One day, I was approached by the owner of an art gallery who had noticed my work and offered me representation.

I eventually moved to a larger gallery and art center where I had a working studio. I began branching out and selling my jewelry in boutiques, galleries, and bead stores throughout the Pacific Northwest.

I have been a finalist in Swarovski Elements Jewelry Making Contest as well as Bead Dreams, which is the contest at the largest consumer bead show in the world. My work has also been featured in Beadwork magazine, one of the top publications in the world of bead artwork and beaded jewelry.

When I’m not voyaging to The Edge Of Elsewhere, my main focus is motherhood & family. I have a very sweet and busy little toddler boy and a rock-solid partner. After family comes work: I’m a full time registered nurse at a small rural hospital. My main role is charge nurse of the MedSurg floor (which includes my community’s local covid isolation unit). Other non-bead related work I have done includes teaching in Athletics at a university, working as a certified personal trainer, managing a gym, managing a café, and ghostwriting for web publications. I have also worked a myriad of positions in retail, coffee, food service, as a caregiver, housekeeper, and hotel maid. I aim to use all my life experiences to inform who I am and my shape my approach to others with compassion and clarity.
But back to beads! This is a labor of love for me. I don’t create for money but simply for the love of it. I’m drawn back to beads again and again no matter how far I venture afield. I welcome custom orders and really enjoy commissions big or small. I hope you find something you love in my shop, and I’d welcome the chance to answer any questions you have.
